Vedic Math Tricks Basic Squaring Numbers technique Tutorial

Vedic Maths Basic Squaring Numbers technique Tutorial

So we are are now familiar with the sutras and basic things of vedic maths. Lets get started with the very simple basic squaring technique and then we will proceed with the advance squaring technique

Squaring Numbers Ending with 5 Trick

This technique is applicable on numbers which ends in 5. We will obtain the answer in two parts. Right part of the answer is always going to be 25 as 5×5 = 25 . So we can blindly write 25 and the left part of the answer is obtained by multiplying the number with the next higher number. Let us understand it with some examples

Example 1: 35×35
The number at left is 3 and the next number higher than 3 is 4 , so we multiply 3×4 to get the left part of the answer as 12
Then we write 25 as our right part answer , to get the final answer as 1225

Example 2 : 85x 85
After 8 there comes 9 so we multiply 8 by 9 to get 72 as the left part of the answer and then write 25 to get the final answer as 7225

Example 3: 115×115
Left part 11×12  Right party 5×5  = 13225

Squaring Numbers between 50 and 60 Trick

The numbers between 50 and 60 can be squared in two simple steps

1. To get the left part of the answer add 25 to the digit in the unit place
2. To get the right part of the answer square the digits in unit place, if it is single digit then convert it to two digits

Lets apply the above steps to square some numbers

Example 1:  square 56
Here the number at the unit place is 6 , we add 25 to 6 and get 31 , this will be the left part of the answer

We square the unit digit 6 to get 36 , which is the right part of the answer.
Our final answer becomes 3136
Similarly you can try squaring 51, 52, 53, 54, 58,59
